The Art Exchange is pleased to announce our 7th Annual Juried Miniature Show. This exhibition is the largest assembly of visual artists in the London area at one venue. This event is not just for local practitioners, but provides an opportunity for someone, thinking about collecting, to own an accomplished original work. The Annual Miniature Show is an exhibition platform offering emerging and established artists a chance to showcase their work in a professional context. The exhibition is open to both London and regional artists from a wide range of artistic, cultural and social backgrounds. Some artists are self-taught others are university/college educated; many more have sizable exhibition records yet all are responding to contemporary conditions. The works range from small sculptures to pastels and prints there are also a wide range of drawings and mixed medium works. Of note are works such as Angela Lorenzen’s acrylic painting entitled Coffee Pot- Eldon House painted in the oeuvre of high realism. Also of note are Richard Moore’s photography of canned goods and Will Kuryluk’s self portrait Joyeux Boxing Day featuring the smiling subject, as a boxer with two front teeth missing. Roberta Whitmore also has an interesting work Autumn on Trout Lake a stitched textile landscape. The artists in the show are too numerous to mention here with over 100 submissions but I should mention just two others Wendy Farrow whose 32, Rue Craig encapsulates the gothic feel of haunted mansions and architectural Juxtapositions- quite a contrast to Agneta Dolman well painted abstract watercolours Fall 1 and Fall 2.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, February 3, at 7:30pm. Awards will be offered for the best three entries. We welcome everyone to come out to the opening and meet the artists. For more information visit our webpage at: http://www.theartexchange.ca/
