Senseless Conflict Must End

I abhor the senseless loss of innocent lives and the horrible
suffering sustained by both sides of the Palestinian-Israeli
conflict.
When will man's inhumanity to man be replaced by reason over
rockets? This tragedy must stop. The world has a moral obligation to
use whatever pressures it can bring to bear to find immediate ways
to bring about peace, not war.
Canada is gravely concerned by this escalation of violence and our
government is calling for an immediate return to a ceasefire and a
sincere commitment from all who have a vested interest in the peace
process to work toward a solution.
We ask all parties to ensure safe humanitarian access to those in
need in Gaza. The Canadian government is actively working with all
of these parties to bring a peaceful solution to this crisis. Let us
pray for success.
