Harper to visit London today
JOBS TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT
Prime Minister Stephen Harper will visit
London today where he is expected to make a
jobs-training-related announcement at Fanshawe College.
Harper, in his first appearance in London
since the Oct. 14 federal election, will be joined by Diane
Finley, his minister of human resources and skills development,
for the 1:30 p.m. event. This marks the first visit to London by
the prime minister since last October, three days before the
federal vote. At that time, Harper visited the campaign office
of London West Conservative candidate Ed Holder
for a rally of supporters.
Holder, now the MP for the riding,
said yesterday Harper coming to London is "huge."
"My guess is it will be good news for
London and good news for Canada," said the rookie MP. Holder
said he could only guess the message will relate to job
training.
