OTTAWA - February 16, 2011
– London West Member of Parliament Ed Holder is pleased to
announce that the City of London will receive additional funds under
the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund to complete several worthy
projects.
“Cities that came in under-budget with their stimulus projects
approached us and asked if we would consider reallocating those
funds to other worthy projects. I’m pleased to note that
London will get an additional $3 million to invest in five projects
as a result,” said Holder.
“Canada fared better than any other nation during the recent global
recession. The quick action of our Government’s and the
willingness of the City to partner on these legacy projects was
critical to enhancing the economic recovery here in London,”
said Holder.
Following the signing of the contribution
agreements, the projects will commence and must be completed by the
agreed deadline – either March 31, 2011 or October 31, 2011.
