Ed Holder joined in with local residents celebrating Colombian Independence Day in Greenway Park
July 19, 2009

Ed Holder was joined by other local elected representatives when he announced funding for affordable housing for low-income and disabled residents.  For the full details, see the press release.

Ed Holder was delighted to join residents of the Riverside Retirement Residence for a very special event.  Canada Day was celebrated with the official unveiling of a Canadian flag which was flown on the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill.  The flag measures 7 feet 3 inches by 14 feet 7 inches and is changed daily.  As a sign of respect the flag must not touch the ground.

Ed also enjoyed meeting several of the 25 Veteran’s who reside at Riverside Residence and presenting them with certificates thanking them for their service to Canada.

Ed Holder MP London West was joined by Chris Bentley MPP London West,  Susan Eagle Councillor (Ward 9) as well as Controller’s Gina Barber and Gord Hume to hand out birthday cake to London West residents at the Optimist Sports Complex. The celebrations were sponsored by the Byron Optimist Club.

Ed Holder, joined Deeq Abdi President of the African Community Council of London and family and friends for a community picnic in Springbank park celebrating not only Canada Day, but also Independence Day for Somalia, Ghana, Rwanda and Burundi.  Delicious dishes from Somalia and Ethiopia were enjoyed by all attendees and well as Ethiopian coffee.
